Day 1: Cape Peninsula

Overnight: Mont Angelis

Your guide will meet you bright and early to ride from the buzzing Atlantic Seaboard via the iconic Chapman’s Peak in Hout Bay, through to False Bay, stopping to rest your legs over lunch in the close-knit beach community of Noordhoek. At the end of a beautiful day out in the saddle, we’ll drive to Stellenbosch to check you into your serene and stylish farm cottage in the heart of the Cape’s winelands.

• Taking in the sweeping views of Hout Bay and Table Mountain from Chapman’s Peak.
• Spotting penguins in the charming naval village of Simon’s Town.

Day 2 – Cape Winelands

Overnight: Mont Angelis

Today, we ride from Stellenbosch to Franschhoek, the wine capitals of South Africa. We’ll take on the challenge of both Helshoogte and Franschhoek Passes, offering unparalleled views of the Cape Winelands, taking time for a shady lunch under the trees at Boschendal Wine Estate, an historic farm rich in Cape heritage.

Average distance: 60 – 90 km

Highlights
• Making it to the top of Helshoogte Pass and seeing the view of the Drakenstein Valley.
• Sharing the Franschhoek Pass with a troop of resident baboons.

Day 3 – False Bay, Clarence Drive

Overnight: Mont Angelis

One of the most scenic passes in the Cape, Clarence Drive delivers you to the entrance to the Southern Cape’s Overberg region and boasts breathtaking coastal views, passing a few of our top surfing spots and deserted beaches along the way.

Expected elevation gain: 1,000m
Average distance: 60 – 100 km

Highlights
• Looking back over False Bay (which is the same distance as the English Channel (approx. 45km).
• Riding so close to the water you can almost touch it!
• Southern Right whale watching (June – Dec).

Day 4 – Bains Kloof Pass

Overnight: Mont Angelis

Spectacular scenery, a slightly more forgiving ascent and natural beauty as far as the eye can see make this one of our most mind-blowing cycling experiences.

Expected elevation gain: 800m
Average distance: 60 – 100 km

Highlight:
• The rocky descent after a long climb

Please note that this tour is a point to point ride and for this reason, a vehicle and additional driver/guide will support you from start to finish and escort you back to Stellenbosch at the end of the day.
